February 2016 – CCHR Warns Parents About Stimulant Adderall Risks

CCHR warns parents to be alert to their teen-aged children being illicitly sold the stimulant Adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine) in light of Louisiana neurologist, Don Gervais recent statement that abuse can “lead to progressive and early drug induced Parkinsonism.” Many people are prescribed the drug and then sell it for profit, according to Dr. Gervais. January 2016 – Florida Psych Facility to Close Amidst Patient Abuse Allegations

Universal Health Services, a company with 21 psychiatric facilities under federal investigation for potential billing fraud, announced the closure of its National Deaf Academy (NDA) Behavioral Health System in Mt. Dora, Florida. NBC News reported the NDA is closing after being “hit with abuse allegations,” with many of these investigated and reported by NBC and other organizations. Read more…

October 2015 – Oregon: Another Mass Shooting, Another Psychiatric Drug? 35 School Shootings/Mass Stabbings Tied to Psychiatric Drugs

Law enforcement officials identified 26-year old, Chris Harper Mercer, as the gunman who killed 10 people and wounded seven others at Umpqua Community College in southwestern Oregon. September 2015 – New Study Confirms What CCHR Has Said for Decades: Antidepressants Cause Violence

That’s what mainstream press such as the LA Times and Reuters are reporting, based on a new study published in a respected medical journal, PLOS Medicine, which found young adults between the ages of 15-24, were nearly fifty percent more likely to be convicted of a homicide, assault, robbery, arson, kidnapping, sexual offense and other violent crime when taking the antidepressant than when they weren’t taking the psychiatric drug. August 2015 – Breaking News: Timberlawn, Texas Psych Hospital Loses Federal Funding

On August 14th federal regulators cut Medicare and Medicaid funding to the Timberlawn psychiatric hospital in Texas, owned by Universal Health Services (UHS), following a court ruling.
