Strattera Deaths with Strattera in any Role

This table shows all adverse reactions and indications (the condition being treated) reported to the FDA's Adverse Event Reporting System (MedWatch) between 2004 and the third quarter of 2008 where Strattera (atomoxetine) was identified in any role (Concomitant, Secondary Suspect Drug or Primary Suspect Drug) in those ISRs (Individual Safety Reports) that had "Abortion Spontaneous" (miscarriage), "Cardic Arrest", "Cardiac Failure", "Completed Suicide", "Death" or "Stillbirth" as an Adverse Reaction, or where the Date of Death equaled the Date of the Event, or where the Outcome was reported as Death. Where an Indication isn't shown, none was provided in the report. Likewise with Country - where none is shown, none was provided in the report. The three Case Reports highlighted in yellow have an Outcome of "Death", but their Date of Death is from 4 to 8 days after the Event Date. These three deaths are included in the Deaths tally as no other drug is identified as the Primary Suspect for the Outcome, but it is acknowledged that these deaths may not have been caused by the patient taking Strattera.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines a poison as "a substance that causes death or harm when introduced into or absorbed by a living organism."  This psychiatric drug fit that definition.
